Wire One Agreement with New Edge Networks Expands 'Glowpoint' Access
HILLSIDE, N.J. – March 26, 2001 -- Wire One Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WONE), a leading full-service provider of video communications solutions, today announced an agreement with New Edge Networks, the largest national broadband access provider focusing primarily in small- and mid-size cities. Under the terms of the agreement, Vancouver, Washington-based New Edge Networks will provide DSL and T1 local loop services to Wire One’s Glowpoint network in those markets throughout the United States.
Earlier this month, Wire One announced it had signed an agreement with Network Access Solutions (NASDAQ: NASC) of Herndon, Virginia, to provide DSL and T1 services for Glowpoint, the first nation-wide subscription-based service to provide video calls over a dedicated IP network. Covad Communications (NASDAQ: COVD) also provides local broadband access to Glowpoint.
“Our agreement with New Edge Networks solidifies our commitment to aggressively provide Glowpoint access to as many subscribers as possible,” said Richard Reiss, president and CEO, Wire One Technologies. “Our latest agreement ensures us that we enhance our ability to provide those customers in the small- and mid-size markets with service that is lower in cost, faster in connectivity, and more efficient than ISDN service that is already available.
