Rhythms DSL Customers Migrating to New Edge Networks

VANCOUVER, Wash. – (August 13, 2001) – New Edge Networks is offering free DSL modems and installation to Rhythms NetConnections (RTHMQ.OB) customers who receive service termination notices because the company is shutting down service next month.

New Edge Networks, the largest broadband DSL and enhanced data communications services provider for small and midsize cities, is migrating former Rhythms customers onto its network, minimizing a lapse in service for high-speed Internet connections. Privately-owned New Edge Networks overlaps DSL network coverage with Rhythms in 15 cities in seven states.

New Edge Networks continues working with Rhythms’ Internet Service Providers who are also affiliated with New Edge Networks to develop special migration arrangements. Affected customers whose ISPs are not currently affiliated with New Edge Networks can sign up for the company’s retail TransEdge™ services. The free DSL modems and installation promotion applies to Rhythms migration orders taken before Sept. 30, 2001.

“Customers with reliable high-speed DSL connections have become dependant on their service,” said Dan Moffat, president, CEO and co-founder of New Edge Networks. “Where our coverage areas overlap, we are doing our best to minimize service disruption and new costs for existing users. This is good for our new customers, reseller partners and us.”

Here is a list of the 15 cities and seven states where Rhythms DSL coverage overlaps with New Edge Networks.

California: Carlsbad, Davis and Vista;
Colorado: Greeley;
Indiana: Anderson;
Minnesota: Anoka and Blaine;
Oregon: Milwaukie and Salem;
Utah: American Fork, Clearfield, Ogden, Orem and Provo;
Washington: Tacoma.

In addition to these locations, New Edge Networks provides broadband DSL service in more than 350 cities in 29 states. The company also provides advanced broadband and data communication services such as Frame Relay and Virtual Private Networks throughout the country.
