Netifice Communications Selects New Edge Networks for Broadband DSL access

ATLANTA and VANCOUVER, Wash. – (August 21, 2001) – Netifice Communications Inc., a leader in end-to-end business class connectivity solutions, has selected New Edge Networks for providing high-speed Internet access to its enterprise customers that have telecommuters or remote branch locations in small and midsize cities nationally.

Under terms of the agreement, Netifice will integrate broadband service powered by New Edge Networks with its multiple access platform under a single management and support umbrella. New Edge Networks will install, test and maintain the DSL lines and provide modems on behalf of Netifice throughout its network that spans more than 360 cities in 29 states. New Edge Networks is the largest broadband and enhanced data communications services provider for small and midsize cities.

“Attentive to the ever-increasing demand for remote access to corporate data, applications and technologies, Netifice has identified the need to partner with New Edge Networks to better serve our geographically diverse client base,” said Charlie Bolton, Sr. Vice President of Business Development for Netifice.

“Netifice and New Edge share the belief in distinguishing themselves by providing technology agnostic broadband access to all,” Bolton said. “I am pleased to partner with a company that shares our strong customer focus and our passionate work ethic.”

Earlier this year, Netifice was among 10 bidders that received awards from the General Services Administration to provide nationwide DSL services to federal government workers around the country. The total value of the five-year contract is more than $300 million.
“The people and businesses in small cities and towns across the country are the greatest beneficiaries of the broadband revolution,” said Dan Moffat, president, CEO and co-founder of New Edge Networks. “By leveraging the turnkey voice and data connectivity services from Netifice and our fat-pipe connections, companies are able to quickly deploy and manage cost-effective remote access solutions and take full advantage of the dynamics of a changing workforce.”
