New Edge Networks Launches High-Speed Internet Service in 15 More Metro Areas

VANCOUVER, Wash., – (April 9, 2002) – New Edge Networks today announced it is launching high-speed dedicated Internet access in 15 additional major metropolitan areas in the eastern United States, offering business or enterprise customers unmatched breadth and depth of national broadband coverage and options.

A national enhanced data and broadband communications service provider, New Edge Networks is using the network it recently acquired from bankrupt At Home Corp., (OTC BB:ATHMQ.OB), to provide service in its new market areas. Last week, New Edge Networks launched service in 13 major cities in seven western states.

“New Edge Networks has evolved into a truly national business broadband provider with a unique coverage footprint not only in major markets but also in hundreds of small cities where we have our roots,” said Dan Moffat, president and CEO of New Edge Networks.

“Demand for business broadband continues to accelerate,” said Moffat, noting “The killer applications for broadband are being invented by businesses right now and they want broadband connectivity in all, not just some of their locations. With our DSL footprint, inter-carrier agreements and our national frame relay footprint we are positioned to offer customers choices in quality of service and pricing across an ever growing broadband footprint.”

Many national carriers now rely on New Edge Networks for broadband transport or access in small and midsize cities. New Edge Networks services are available direct, wholesale or through agents.

New Edge Networks’ new service offering includes a wide array of scalable, fully managed Internet XDSL access methods. New Edge Networks also offer solutions to T-1 to fractional DS-3 through OC-12, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gig Ethernet services. New Edge Networks can deliver fractional DS-3 service in three megabits per second increments up to 45 Mbps to help customers keep costs in line with the bandwidth needs.

New Edge Networks currently offers these services direct to customers and is negotiating agreements with local area computer network integrators and value added resellers to serve as agents and referral partners in each of the new cities.
