New Edge Networks and Covad Reach Agreements to Expand Coverage Areas
VANCOUVER, Wash. – (April 15, 2003) – New Edge Networks, a national business-class broadband services provider, and Covad Communications (OTCBB:COVD.OB), a leading national broadband service provider of high-speed Internet and network access, have entered into resale agreements that enable each company to expand their coverage areas and customer reach for digital subscriber line (DSL) and T1 broadband services.
Under the agreements, New Edge Networks expands its DSL and T-1 reach into the Covad network that covers more than 1,800 central offices in 96 of the top metropolitan statistical areas. Covad expands its reach to 600 New Edge Networks central offices in small and midsize cities, including eight new states which increase Covad’s footprint to 43 states.

Covad's network currently covers more than 40 million homes and business and reaches approximately 45 percent of all U.S. homes and businesses. The central offices now accessible through New Edge Networks give Covad the ability to reach an additional 13.8 million homes and businesses.
