New Edge Networks Offers Safe Haven, Incentives to Cable & Wireless Customers

VANCOUVER, Wash. – (Oct. 20, 2003) – New Edge Networks is offering potentially stranded Cable & Wireless customers a safe haven and incentives for migrating their frame relay and ATM data services to avoid a proposed service cutoff in December.

Cable & Wireless is asking the FCC for authorization to discontinue its Frame Relay and ATM services in the United States on Dec. 15, 2003. In letters to affected customers dated Oct. 14, 2003, Cable & Wireless urged them to select an alternative provider and migrate to that new provider’s network before the deadline to avoid any disruption of service.

New Edge Networks is offering to waive new installation charges on migrations for like services. In addition to traditional frame relay and ATM services, New Edge Networks also is offering affected Cable & Wireless customers frame relay over DSL, which provides about double the bandwidth for about half the price of traditional frame relay services.

New Edge Networks also is offering special sales incentives to agents who assist with customer migrations. New Edge Networks must receive migration orders by Oct. 31 to provide a smooth transition before the Dec. 15 cutoff date.

“Earlier this year, New Edge Networks successfully migrated more than 1,000 Cable & Wireless customers for data communications and dedicated Internet access. We’ve become very proficient on migrating stranded customers,” said Dan Moffat, president and CEO of New Edge Networks. “We know these networks are the lifeblood of business customers. We go to extremes to ensure smooth transitions.”
