T-Systems Expands Global IP VPN; Signs Deal with New Edge Networks
VANCOUVER, Wash. – (Feb. 2, 2005) – New Edge Networks announced today that T-Systems North America has selected New Edge Networks’ nationwide broadband access solutions and services to expand its global IP VPN solution.
Under terms of the agreement, New Edge Networks will provide T-Systems North America, a division of Deutsche Telekom, with nationwide frame relay over DSL and xDSL broadband access services, enabling broadband access into T-Systems’ global network platform.
“Our agreement with New Edge Networks is in response to customer demand for less expensive access alternatives to our global IP VPN solutions that do not compromise service quality,” said Sean Parkinson, CEO of T-Systems’ North America operations. “New Edge Networks’ extended nationwide broadband footprint helps T-Systems meet our customers’ requirements, while reducing the cost and complexity of deploying multiple provider solutions, allowing us to stay focused on our customers.”
Through New Edge Networks, T-Systems gains immediate access to approximately 90 percent of businesses addresses that are covered by business-quality DSL. New Edge Networks’ core and extended DSL coverage spans about 9,000 telephone company central office locations that are equipped for DSL service. New Edge Networks also provides nationwide frame relay access.
